Tab Page for SharePoint
This week we launched a new Tab Page that is easy to install and requires no SharePoint Designer (SPD) or text editor.   This was a collaborative effort by Baris Wanschers, Mark Miller and myself. 
 
Baris, several weeks ago, put together a solution to add tabs to a web page using SPD or a text editor.
 
I took a stab at a solution, using Baris's tab code, that would require no SPD or text editor, a no assembly code solution.
 
Mark Miller then created a great screen cast of implementing this solution and is a must view.
 
Thank you Baris and Mark for the excellent work on this.

The tabs are great!
Just wondering if there is a way to take the tabbed part and include it on a page containing other web parts and not have to link to the document list first?

There are two solutions to this.

First you can go to Boris's original post where he outlines how to add this to an exiting page.  Here is the link:

Tab Pages using List Web Part in the Zone

First, thanks I think this is a great solution to organizing web parts.

I've added a list web part to a zone under one of the tabs.  The list contains Infopath forms and the list settings are enabled for the form to be viewed in the browser.  When placed in the tabbed zone the infopath form only opens in the infopath client.

Do you have any insight into why the list web part is not allowing the form to open in the browser?

It is possible to have more than one tab section on a page?

I love this web part, but wanted to know if it is possible to have more than 1 tab section on a single page?

That would be a redesign of the page layout.  You are welcome to take my page layout and modify it as you wish. 

the new tabs would have to have unique names.

This is a nice solution and thank you. Another reader asked the same question "Is there is a way to take the tabbed part and include it on a page containing other web parts?"

Boris's blog is now gone or moved and your other option is for SP 2007 which I do not have.

Any place to point me?

This solution does not work that way.  It was designed as a page.  There is a solution out there by Christophe who has a solution as a web part  called Easy Tabs.  You can find it here: http://www.pathtosharepoint.com/pages/easyTabs.aspx
